A month in the life of a health coach

I often get asked what my life looks like since becoming a Health Coach, so each month, I dedicate a post to a behind the scenes look. In July, highlights include cooking on Good Morning America and filming some fun YouTube videos.

Keep in mind, this is of course, my highlight reel. What you don’t see is the days behind the computer writing, planning, strategizing, figuring out how the hell to make a TikTok video, and conversing with students in all of my courses.

Touring A Vertical Farm

Life Of A Health Coach
What is it like to be a health coach

One of the things I love most about being a health coach, is meeting so many other like-minded fellow health coaches like my friend Talah. She and her husband own a vertical, hydroponic farm that grows different types of lettuce and micro-greens, so I couldn’t resist a tour to check it out.

It was really interesting to learn how they are able to grow greens, indoor with minimal water and space.

Want to know how we met?

I was sitting in a coffee shop with another friend, and after I left, I got a DM from her saying she thought she recognized me from somewhere but couldn’t place it at the time, then she realized she followed me on IG. We set up a coffee date and the rest is history! How cool is that? Another reason to post regularly and strategically on social media - it opens up so many incredible opportunities, not just in business, but in friendship and life!

Celebrating my Friend’s 1 MILLION Subscribers

My friend Danae hit 1 million followers on instagram, so some friends and I threw a party for her to celebrate. We ordered my fave gluten-free, dairy-free pizza and salad, and finished it off with an epic GF, DF cake, too.

It’s so important to celebrate your wins, especially a huge milestone like this. And it’s important to be around people who inspire you and elevate you…thanks to her and our other friend Lilly (who is close to 1 million on YouTube!), I’ve been inspired to create more video content for YouTube.

Cooking with Good Morning America

A day in the life of a health coach

The highlight of the month, was cooking on Good Morning America with Ginger Zee! I got to show her, and America, how to upgrade pizza with better for you ingredients.

I also got to team up with one of my favorite healthy brands for this segment.

In my Health Coach Business Bootcamp, I teach you how to book prestigious media placements like this one, even without having to hire an expensive PR firm.

Getting ready for the segment with a clay mask, and using my fave natural teeth whitening regimen that uses charcoal and an LED light.

As part of The Health Coach Business Bootcamp, I teach you how to incorporate affiliate marketing into your content strategy, as an additional passive income stream, like I did here.

I honestly love and use the teeth whitening system, so I would share it regardless, but as an affiliate for the brand, you as the customer will get a discount, and I will earn a small commission on the sale when someone uses that link. Win-win!

In my Health Coach Business Bootcamp, I go more in-depth into affiliate marketing, but in the meantime, if you incorporate wellness or lifestyle tips into your practice, you can sign up to become an affiliate for them, too!

Partnering up with brands is a question I get asked about frequently. There are so many ways to work with brands you love, regardless of the size of your following.

I teach you how to effectively approach and pitch brand partnerships and how to find the right contacts, even if you know no one there. I even provide you with the email pitch template that I use to land many of my brand deals.

Talking Poop on YouTube

What is it like to a be a health coach

My friend Danae invited me on her YouTube channel to discuss bloating and whip up a simple de-bloat tea. I couldn’t resist talking about one of my favorite subjects: poop. While I haven’t used YouTube a ton in the past, I realize what an incredible medium it is to share knowledge and grow your following.

So, I recently started posting more on my YouTube, and will continue to do so.

Learning from a Legend

A day in the life of a health coach

My 93-year old Grandfather-in-law is an absolute legend, and I LOVE spending time with him. He is sharp as a tack, as flexible as a yogi, and you can talk to him on just about any subject. Here he was teaching me how to sit for meditation - with feet pulled up on top of the thighs. It immediately gives you perfect posture, and you won’t slump.

He grew up and still lives in India, but he’s visiting the family now to ride out COVID. We have long debates and discussions on everything from GMOs to dairy consumption to American politics. My favorite little nugget from this meeting: the key to happiness is being comfortable with yourself. To be able to sit alone with yourself. Essentially, to love yourself and enjoy your own company!

Staycation with the Hubz

Kush and I did a staycation at a nearby hotel to get a little change of scenery. It was so nice to do nothing for a few days. I convinced him to do face masks together… How good natured is this guy?! 😂
