3 Strategies To Get Clients Without Social Media

How To Get Health Coaching Clients Without Social Media

Don’t get me wrong. Consistently posting on social media will help your bottom line. But, it IS possible to have a profitable business without being glued to the ‘gram.

So many new Health Coaches tell me about their resistance to posting on social - and believe me I understand. It’s not my second nature to post everything I do or eat. I prefer to unplug, and to be in the moment, instead of constantly whipping my phone out.

To combat my lack of desire to post, I often schedule posts in advance. And when I do, it works like a charm. So I do teach my Bootcamp students exactly how to do this- from thinking of the content, to planning and executing photoshoots, to caption writing, to scheduling it out so it automatically posts.

But, to be honest, there are times where I don’t schedule posts or post in the moment. Days and even a week or two go by between IG feed posts. And it’s not a big deal, because I set my business up in such a way that I’m not solely reliant on instagram or social media for clients or income.

Of course, the ideal option would be you do both - set your business up so that it’s not solely reliant on instagram for customers AND still post consistently. But, for times when you just don’t feel like posting, here’s how to “social-media proof” your business:

How to Get Clients without Being Reliant on Social Media

  1. Have a Content Marketing Strategy. A good content marketing strategy will help people find you when they’re searching on Google for the service you provide. In other words, content marketing will increase traffic to your site.

Personally, I love writing so it’s enjoyable for me to write blog posts, and it has been a strategy I’ve employed since the beginning. The longer you do it for, the better it is for your site and business.

  2. Have a Sales Funnel & Email Marketing Strategy so that when someone lands on your site (for example, from a search engine), they become an email subscriber.

Email subscribers are more likely to become clients or customers…as long as you nurture them with valuable emails every week.

Unlike social posts - which sometimes get lost in the noise and missed anyway - an email newsletter should ideally be sent out weekly to keep your services top of mind.

  3. Have a Publicity Strategy. Another way to get traffic to your website is a solid publicity strategy, so that you get featured or mentioned in the media - whether online, on TV, or in print.

I know everyone really covets TV spots, but honestly, mentions in online publications are the best, since they will typically include a direct link back to your site.

This link back to your site is gold for two reasons:

    1) it gets potential customers on your site, and

    2) it supports your content marketing strategy by improving the chances that your content will show up higher in Google search results

With these 3 key strategies in place, you don’t necessarily have to post on social media everyday in order to have a steady stream of clients or customers. Yes, there are a lot of people on social media, but there are a lot more not on social media yet still using the internet.

It’s important to utilize all three of these strategies simultaneously, or at least numbers 1 and 2.

If you have a ton of traffic to your site from a feature in a prestigious media outlet, yet, don’t have a great website or provide valuable content on it, you won’t build up any of the know-like-trust factor needed for someone to become a client or customer.

OR, if you have great information on your site but don’t have a way to capture emails, once that tab is closed, you probably won’t ever see that person again.

You can of course Google how to do all of these things, but if you want a targeted, in-depth, step-by-step roadmap, to creating and implementing these strategies, plus so much more, start your Health Coach Business Bootcamp today.
